Preliminary experiments were run on the test subject Dr Oshitari Yuushi over the course of 5 days to measure the impact of factors that may influence his work output, in the interest of making the Science division more efficient over the next 5 years.
His work productivity was measured in one hour segments across the entire working day by recording the average words per minute for his typing during that hour. While there were limitations to this methodology due to Dr Oshitari not always being at his desk for the entire hour, further tests will be conducted based on these preliminary results. I hope to consider the actual contents of his work in future tests.
The graphed results can be seen below in Figures 1 and 2:

Figure 1: Dr Oshitari's average WPM across the five days in hourly segments from 0800 to 2000

Figure 2: Dr Oshitari's average WPM output averaged across the 5 days for each hourly segment from 0800 to 2000
Dr Oshitari saw a significant spike in his WPM by 100%, an effect that was sustained as an increased output for the next four hours with a steady decrease back to his usual output of approximately 50 WPM. This trend continued across all five days with the effect increasing throughout the week.
His least productive time was between 0800 - 0900, likely due to lack of sufficient caffeine absorption. Further observation will need to be done to record the exact time of his first caffeine intake, to account for this. His most productive time was consistently from 1200 - 1300. Adjustments could be considered for his working hours with this in mind.
At 1230 everyday, Ensign Sanada Genichirou came to the science labs in order to help with the installation of equipment and upgrades to the lab. The impact of his presence on the data collected is still being considered.
I am looking forward to the first group of mining site builders to return, so that I can receive more samples to analyse and also continue my studies of Dr Oshitari. Unfortunately the presence of Genichirou in the first round of testing consistently at 1230 means that at least for now, I should keep him as a control. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, Genichirou.

Date: 2022-09-10 11:17 am (UTC)I have noticed Sanada seems to gather a lot of attention, though the amount varies throughout the day. It seems to increase as the day goes by, as his state of dress changes the later it gets. Perhaps that may be a variable for your study?
